Parents and Schools alike, need to work together, to promote acceptance, to encourage understanding and increase awareness. If 1 in 10 children (globally) are born with a disability, then we need to do our part to destigmatize and integrate these special needs children into our schools and culture without judgement or prejudice. As a society, we should take up their cause and advocate for these beautiful souls, acknowledge their sacrifices and recognize their strength and resilience.
Create Change
For generations, many of those with special needs have felt ostracized and forced to stay hidden. The stigma that follows them is unrelenting, even in today's generation that boasts of inclusivity and tolerance, still fails to recognize how desperately they too want to be accepted. They shouldn't be made to feel marginalized due to something that is out of their control. They too deserve to be seen, valued, and accepted, just as they are.
